Leonard's Bakery - Honolulu, Hawai'i

Known throughout the islands for their malasades, a Portuguese donut, Leonard's is a short walk from the beaches in Waikiki. These hole-less, fist-size "clouds" of fried dough, come in many varities, usually stuffed with some kind of cream or fruit filling.

Shown here is the original, deep fried and sprinkled with granulated sugar.

Mmmmm-mm. Well worth the walk!
